Pan Fried Asparagus
Trim the asparagus:
Snap or cut off the woody ends (about 1–2 inches from the bottom).
Heat your pan:
Use a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil or butter.
Add asparagus:
Place the asparagus in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for about 2 minutes to get a nice sear.
Toss and stir:
Stir or flip the asparagus occasionally for even browning. Cook for another 4–6 minutes, depending on the thickness. Thinner stalks will cook faster.
Season:
Add garlic (if using) during the last 1–2 minutes to prevent burning. Season with salt and pepper.
Finish and serve:
Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice, sprinkle with zest, or add grated Parmesan if desired.
✅ Tips:
For extra crisp-tender asparagus, blanch in boiling water for 1 minute before frying.
Want heat? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
Try sesame oil + soy sauce for an Asian twist.
