Mozzarella Onion Rings

1. Prepare the Cheese and Onion
Slice the Cheese: Cut mozzarella into strips about 0.5 cm wide and long enough to fit inside onion rings.

Slice the Onion: Peel and cut 1 onion into rings 1.5–2 cm thick. Separate the rings and pair them with a 0.3–0.5 cm difference in diameter for stuffing.

2. Assemble the Onion Rings
Place a mozzarella strip between each pair of onion rings, making sure the cheese is completely enclosed.

3. Prepare the Coatings
Flour: 50 g in a bowl.

Eggs: Whisk 2 eggs in a bowl.

Breadcrumbs: 100 g in a separate bowl.

4. Coat the Onion Rings
Coat each stuffed ring in flour.

Dip into whisked eggs, letting excess drip off.

Coat in breadcrumbs, pressing gently.

For extra crispiness and to prevent cheese leakage, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step.

5. Fry the Onion Rings
Heat enough oil in a deep pan or fryer to submerge the rings.

Fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding.

6. Drain and Serve
Place fried rings on paper towels to remove excess oil.
