1½ cups panko bread crumbs
1½ tsp Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp marjoram
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Prep the Mushrooms
Gently clean mushrooms and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Season the Coating
In a bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with marjoram, Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Set Up Your Stations
Pour buttermilk into a bowl.
Add flour to a zip-top bag.
Coat the Mushrooms
Add mushrooms to the flour bag and shake until coated.
Dip each flour-coated mushroom into the buttermilk using one hand.
Roll it in the seasoned panko mixture with your other hand (avoids clumpy fingers!).
