Instructions:
1. Prep the Mushrooms:
Wipe the mushrooms clean and slice them into ΒΌ-inch thick pieces. Set aside.
2. Make the Dry Coating:
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, black pepper, paprika, salt, dill, onion powder, garlic powder, and parsley. Mix well.
3. Make the Wet Batter:
In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth.
4. Coat the Mushrooms:
Dip each mushroom slice into the wet batter, letting excess drip off. Then dredge in the dry coating, pressing lightly to adhere.
5. Heat the Oil:
In a large skillet, heat about Β½ inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat (350Β°F if using a thermometer).
6. Fry the Mushrooms:
Working in batches, fry the mushrooms for 2β3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
7. Drain & Serve:
Transfer fried mushrooms to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve immediately with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy your crispy, golden fried mushrooms!
