Steps
The steps are divided into two parts: the first for preparing the Cortadillo bread dough, and the second for making the glaze. Detailed instructions follow shortly.

Step 1
Beat the eggs with the sugar. You’ll know it’s done right when the mixture foams and changes color.
Step 2
Add the milk, oil, and vanilla, and continue beating the mixture.
Step 3
Gradually add the flour and mix for a few more minutes. If you want to add yellow food coloring, add it now and stir.
Step 4
Find a baking pan and grease it with flour and butter to prevent sticking. Pour the dough into the pan.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the dough for 45 minutes. To check if it’s done, insert a toothpick or knife; if it comes out clean, the bread is ready.

Step 6
For the glaze, mix the pink food coloring, milk, and sugar. Blend until you get a good consistency. Spread it over the baked bread and sprinkle with confetti (sugar-coated almonds).

This way, you’ll have the famous and delicious Cortadillo bread ready to enjoy anytime. It’s a nostalgic treat reminding many of childhood sweets—soft, spongy, and wonderful!
